Powder Bound Tours was founded by Ryan Cavazos to help passionate skiers experience the world’s most iconic mountain destinations without the stress of planning every detail themselves.
After spending years exploring ski resorts across North America and logging millions of vertical feet on snow, Ryan developed a deep appreciation for the unique character, culture, and terrain that make each mountain special. From powder days in the Rockies to bucket-list adventures in Europe and Japan, his mission is simple: create ski trips that combine world-class skiing with seamless travel experiences and great company.
Today, Ryan personally helps design Powder Bound itineraries, carefully selecting destinations, lodging, transportation, and experiences that allow travelers to focus on what matters most—making turns, creating memories, and sharing unforgettable days in the mountains.

Why I Created Powder Bound Tours
After years of chasing powder and exploring ski resorts across North America and beyond, I realized that many skiers dream of visiting iconic destinations like Chamonix, Zermatt, Niseko, and the Dolomites—but the logistics can be overwhelming.
Powder Bound Tours was created to remove those barriers and make legendary ski destinations more accessible. Our goal is simple: combine great skiing, great people, and thoughtfully planned travel experiences so you can focus on enjoying the mountains.
The Powder Bound Philosophy
The best ski trips aren't always about the deepest powder or the steepest terrain. They're about standing on top of a mountain you've dreamed about for years. They're about sharing a chairlift with new friends. They're about discovering a mountain village, enjoying an après-ski meal, and creating memories that stay with you long after the season ends. That's the experience we're trying to create on every Powder Bound adventure.
Chasing One Million Vertical Feet
One winter. Forty-plus resorts. Nine states. Endless adventure.
I wanted to see just how much adventure could be packed into a single winter. Over the course of one season, I skied more than one million vertical feet while visiting over 40 different ski resorts across nine western states. Every mile of the journey was completed by vehicle in the Powder Bound Cruiser, chasing storms, exploring new mountains, and discovering what was possible using modern mega-pass products like Ikon and Epic.
What made the challenge especially unique was that it was accomplished while continuing to operate my business full-time remotely. Week after week, the mountains became both office view and playground as I balanced work responsibilities with a relentless pursuit of snow.
The experience reinforced something I have always believed: some of the best adventures begin when you venture beyond your home mountain. Every resort has its own personality, every ski town has its own culture, and every destination has a story worth discovering.
That philosophy ultimately became one of the foundations of Powder Bound Tours. We believe skiing is about more than just accumulating vertical feet—it's about exploring new mountains, experiencing different cultures, and creating unforgettable memories along the way.
